Σαν σήμερα, 3 Απριλίου 1895 γεννήθηκε στη Φλωρεντία ο σημαντικός συνθέτης Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco. Έχοντας δείξει το συνθετικό ταλέντο του από πολύ μικρή ηλικία, θα αναπτύξει ένα προσωπικό, πλούσιο μελωδικά και ατμοσφαρικό ιδίωμα που οφείλει αρκετά στον ιμπρεσιονισμό των Debussy, Ravel. Έγραψε μεγάλο αριθμό έργων σε ποικίλες φόρμες, από όπερα και σκηνική μουσική, μέχρι έργα για πιάνο, βιολί και πλήθος άλλων οργάνων, έμεινε ωστόσο περισσότερο γνωστός ως κιθαριστικός και κινηματογραφικός συνθέτης. Ακούμε τα εξαιρετικά Capriccio Diabolico για κιθάρα [Tariq Harb] και Cipressi, για πιάνο [Mariaclara Monetti]. Στη συνέχεια, μουσική του για την ταινία “Η Επιστροφή του Βρικόλακα“, [1943], σε σκηνοθεσία Lew Landers, με πρωταγωνιστή τον Bela Lugosi.

On this date, April 3, 1895, the important composer Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco was born in Florence. Having shown composing skills from a very young age, he will develop a personal, melodically rich and atmospheric idiom that owes to the impressionism of Debussy, Ravel. He wrote a large number of works in a variety of forms, from opera and stage music, to works for piano, violin and several other other instruments, but he is best known for his guitar music and soundtracks. We hear two excellent pieces, Capriccio Diabolico for guitar [Tariq Harb] and Cipressi for piano [Mariaclara Monetti].
