Manuel Maria Ponce Cuellar [1882-1948], a remarkable Mexican composer of the first half of the twentieth century, combined, like others at the same time, forms of “words” music with those of tradition.
He wrote music for orchestra and chamber ensembles, but also for solo instruments, mainly for guitar and piano.
We hear his Six Preludes for Guitar, performed the great Andres Segovia.

Amazing!
Brings back fond memories of my mother playing Segovia albums, especially for her father when he and my grandmother came for Sunday dinner. The composer brings something new to my ears. Thanks again.
This is a lovely picture, thank you for sharing it! Yes, the composer may not be “one of the greatest ever” but is an original. Thank you and sorry for my delayed answer…
