Η μια πηγάζει από τα sessions για την ηχογράφηση του Imagine (1971) και βρίσκεται στο cd box με ακυκλοφόρητα tracks The John Lennon Anthology – επιλεγμένα απ’ την Yoko Ono. Ο John, παρεμπιπτόντως, είναι ένα από τα ιδιαίτερα σημαντικά μέλη του October born club.
Η βερσιόν της μπάντας του Joe Sample (01:54) προέρχεται από το άλμπουμ τους Give Peace A Chance (1969).
Two alternative versions of the anti-war anthem.
One stems from the recording sessions of Imagine (1971) and is on the CD box with unreleased tracks The John Lennon Anthology – compiled by Yoko Ono. John, by the way, is one of the most important members of the October born club.
The version of Joe Sample’s band (01:54) is on their album Give Peace A Chance (1969).

I loved the second version – would never thought of this Lennon piece as a bluesy number. Cracking!
Thank you! Never really liked the original version myself to tell the truth (the one with the unison singing “choir”). I think its theme is a non imaginative variation of the Big Ben chimes one.🙂
