O Ισπανός συνθέτης Joaquín Rodrigo έμεινε τυφλός λόγω ασθενείας [διφθερίτιδας] σε ηλικία τριών ετών. Αυτό δεν τον εμπόδισε να σπουδάσει μουσική και να παραγάγει σημαντικό έργο, χρησιμοποιώντας το σύστημα Braille για την καταγραφή του. Σολίστ του πιάνου και όχι της κιθάρας, κατάφερε να ανανεώσει το ρεπερτόριο αυτής της τελευταίας με σειρά συνθέσεων – ανάμεσά τους η μια και μοναδική με την οποία πέρασε στην ιστορία [Concierto De Aranjuez].
Εμεις ακούμε το ονειρικό, μπαρόκ προσανατολισμού δεύτερο μέρος του Concierto Serenata [Adagio], στη βερσιόν για άρπα. Σολίστ η Nancy Allen, ο Enrique Batiz διευθύνει την Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Στη συνέχεια ο μέγας Narciso Yepes ερμηνεύει το ‘Invocación Y Danza’, ένα από τα κιθαριστικά αριστουργήματα του 20ου αιώνα.

The Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo became blind due to illness [diphtheria] at the age of three. This did not prevent him from studying music and producing important work, using the Braille system for writing it down. A soloist of the piano rather than the guitar, he managed to renew the repertoire of the latter with a series of compositions – among them the one and only with which he passed in history [Concierto De Aranjuez].
We hear the dreamy, baroque oriented second part of Concierto Serenata [Adagio], in the harp version. Nancy Allen is the soloist, Enrique Batiz conducts the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. After that, the great Narciso Yepes, performs ‘Invocación Y Danza’, one of the guitar masterpieces of the 20th century.
