Ένα παλιό, εποχής This Was τραγούδι των Jethro Tull, που κυκλοφόρησε για πρώτη φορά σε άλμπουμ τέσσερα χρόνια αργότερα – στο διπλό compilation Living In The Past του ’72.
Ένα μικρό ανεκτίμητο διαμάντι, και ένα από τα πιο αγαπημένα μου, διαχρονικά, τραγούδια του Ian Anderson.
An old Jethro Tull song, from This Was era, which was released on the compilation – double vinyl Living In The Past album, 4 years later, in 1972.
A little precious jewel, and one of my favorite Ian Anderson songs of all times.
Once in Royal David’s City stood a lonely cattle shed,
Where a mother held her baby.
You’d do well to remember the things He later said.
When you’re stuffing yourselves at the Christmas parties,
You’ll just laugh when I tell you to take a running jump.
You’re missing the point I’m sure does not need making
That Christmas spirit is not what you drink.
So how can you laugh when your own mother’s hungry,
And how can you smile when the reasons for smiling are wrong?
And if I just messed up your thoughtless pleasures,
Remember, if you wish, this is just a Christmas song.

Whoa!– a groovy Christmas song AND Donald Duck putting a star on top of the Christmas tree– this blog post clearly has it all!! I’d forgotten Donald was in the JT band– he played the duck call, I believe… 😂
Merry Christmas, my dear fellow, and thanks for all your kind support during this turbulent and distressing year. Keep smiling and battling on, and here’s hoping 2021 will be the year that MK-O assumes their rightful position at the top of the charts!! 😊
Merry Christmas to you my friend! I wouldn’t hold my breath about topping the charts😀 – instead I’d like to think Donald will manage to overturn the election at the last moment! Biden – Harris is too surreal. It’s Philip Dick [“The Man In The High Castle”] stuff… Thank you for everything!
Wonderful! And a Merry Christmas to you and your lovely wife!
Merry Christmas to you too!!!
Thank you!
That was a very nice music Christmas treat! Thank you!
