Από το περσινό άλμπουμ [2019] του James Morrison, You’re Stronger Than You Know.

A song from last year’s [2019] James Morrison album, You’re Stronger Than You Know. A ballad about his unhappy childhood with his parents which was affected by alcoholism and depression.
James Morrison explains:
“Trying to escape where you’ve come from is hard. I was brought up in alcoholism and depression and that stuff is hard to fight against. There are a lot of people in the world who have lost or had difficulties with their parents. Being ultra-personal is quite difficult, but if it can help people I’ll definitely leave it in.”
I was born from rage and sadness
Doesn’t everybody cry on their first day?
You try and get sane when your raised on madness
It takes a lot of burn to break a chain
And I belong
And I belong somewhere
Today could be the day that I save myself
But how do you be somebody new?
Well I don’t know how I’m meant to fool myself
For a second I can when I’m with you
Slowly, slowly
I’m gonna realise I’m who I’m meant to be
I’ve only just begun to know my mother
I know less about my dad since he passed away
I’ve always lived in rooms that had no windows
I guess I better look inside myself anyway
And I belong
And I belong somewhere
Today could be the day that I save myself
But how do you be somebody new?
Well I don’t know how I’m meant to fool myself
For a second I can when I’m with you
Slowly, slowly
I’m gonna realise I’m where I’m meant to be
It takes so long
I’ve finally found what I’ve been searching for all along
It’s getting better baby
Thinking about you so much
I forget about me
Today could be the day that I save myself
But how do you be somebody new?
Well I don’t know how I’m meant to fool myself
For a second I can when I’m with you
Slowly, slowly
I finally realise I’m who I’m meant to be
