GARY BROOKER B-DAY, PROCOL HARUM PODCAST : A SALTY DOG / HOMBURG / TOUJOURS L’ AMOUR / THE IDOL / THE DEVIL CAME FROM KANSAS …etc

On this date, May 29, 1945, Gary Brooker, founder, singer piano player and principal composer of Procol Harum, was born in London. They group may be considered, along with Moody Blues, the harbingers of progressive [they were after all among the first to experiment with a symphony orchestra], but the essence of Procol Harum‘s music has always been the grandiose simplicity of Gary Brooker‘s songwriting.
We hear some examples.
