Ο εικονιζόμενος George Bernard Shaw, όπως και ο επιφανής επίσης συγγραφέας Herbert George Wells, ήταν μέλος της πρωτοποριακής Fabian Society * στην οποία έχουμε αναφερθεί επανειλημμένα (βλ. πχ. το post Η ΝΕΑ ΤΑΞΗ ΗΡΘΕ ΑΠ’ ΤΟ ΔΙΑΣΤΗΜΑ). Συναντάμε τον G.B.S. στα μισά της απόστασης ανάμεσα στον “απόλυτο πρωτοπόρο” Thomas Malthus και τον …Noah Yuval Harari.
Αλλιώς : το έδαφος για τους “ειδικούς” / “διανοούμενους” της σήμερον, έχει καλλιεργηθεί από τους ειδικούς / διανοούμενους του χτες.

* Έτος ίδρυσης το 1884. Διακηρυγμένοι στόχοι : η αναδιάρθρωση της κοινωνίας – κοινωνική δικαιοσύνη, εξάλειψη ανισοτήτων, εθνικοποίηση της οικονομίας. Τα παραπάνω μέσω “σταδιακής διείσδυσης” στο κοινοβούλιο, την τοπική αυτοδιοίκηση, τα πανεπιστήμια και τον πολιτισμό, με ήπιες προπαγανδιστικές μεθόδους. Το όνομα της εταιρίας πηγάζει από εκείνο του Ρωμαίου στρατηγού Κόιντου Φάβιου Μάξιμου – νικητή του Αννίβα στο Δεύτερο Καρχηδονικό Πόλεμο. Η τακτική του ήταν εκείνη της αποφυγής ανοιχτών μαχών, και της συστηματικής πρόκλησης φθοράς στον εχθρό. Κλασικά logos της εταιρίας : λύκος με προβειά προβάτου, σύμβολο …διακριτικότητας. Χελώνα, σύμβολο του υπομονετικού, βήμα προς βήμα σοσιαλιστικού μετασχηματισμού της κοινωνίας.

FABIAN SOCIETΥ : BECAUSE THE TIME IS NEAR ! The pictured George Bernard Shaw, like the equally prominent writer Herbert George Wells, was a member of the pioneering Fabian Society, * which we have repeatedly mentioned (see, e.g., the post THE NEW ORDER CAME FROM SPACE). We encounter G.B.S. halfway between the “absolute pioneer” Thomas Malthus and… Noah Yuval Harari. In other words: the ground for today’s “experts”/“intellectuals” was cultivated by yesterday’s experts/intellectuals.

* Founded in 1884. Declared goals: the restructuring of society—social justice, elimination of inequalities, nationalization of the economy. These were to be achieved through “gradual infiltration” into parliament, local government, universities, and culture, using subtle propaganda methods. The society’s name derives from the Roman general Quintus Fabius Maximus, victor over Hannibal in the Second Punic War. His tactic was to avoid open battles and systematically wear down the enemy. Classic logos of the society: a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a symbol of… discretion. A tortoise, a symbol of the patient, step-by-step socialist transformation of society.
