Ακούμε το επιβλητικό φινάλε του The Twain Shall Meet, δεύτερου άλμουμ του Eric Burdon και των (New) Animals, κυκλοφορία του 1968.
We hear the imposing finale of The Twain Shall Meet, second album by Eric Burdon & The (New) Animals, released in 1968. And a song from their debut, Winds Of Change of the previous year.
Eric Burdon …57th on Rolling Stone’s list of the Greatest Singers of All Time, was born this month, 83 years ago.
On my list, by the way, if I ever made one, he ‘d certainly claim No 1.
00:00 All Is One 07:47 Good Times
We’re all one
We’re all one
I’m a part of you
You are part of me
We’re all one
We’re all one
We’re all one
Your neighbour is is your brother
The Sun is your son
We’re all one
They’re all one
Everything is one
The wind, the rain, the sun
They’re all one
You will never die
Like the birds, just fly
I am part of you
You are all of me
We’re all all one
All one, yeah
All one, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Ah, ah, ah, ah,
Ah, ah, yeah, ah
Ah, ah, ah
To my inferiors, I am superior
To a nickel, I am a nickel
To my superiors I am grateful for what I can gain from them
By thinking I am superior, they are only making themselves inferior
Now can’t you see that?
Can’t you see that?
Don’t you understand that?
Can’t you see?
Can’t you see?
Don’t you know?
Can’t you see? Don’t you know?
Can’t you see? Don’t you know?
Can’t you see? Don’t you know?
Can’t you see? Don’t you know?
Can’t you see? Can’t you see?
Don’t you know? Don’t you know? Don’t you know? Don’t you know? Don’t you know? Don’t you know?
Well, you should know by now
When I think of all the good times that I’ve wasted having good times
When I think of all the good time that’s been wasted having good times
When I was drinkin’
I should’ve been thinkin’
When I was fighting
I could’ve done the right thing
All of that boozin’
I was really losin’
Good times
Good times
When I think of all the good time that’s been wasted having good times
When I think of all the good time that’s been wasted having good times
All of my lying
I remember her crying
My useless talkin’
I could’ve been walkin’
Instead of complainin’
I could’ve been gainin’
Good times
Yes, here we are all having a jolly good time
And everything is working out fine, ha ha ha ha ha
Useless talkin’
All of that walkin’
All of my sin
I could’ve been winnin’
I have it too easy
And it’s a beginning of good times
Good times
I said good times
Talking ’bout good times
Oh good times

Χωρίς να είμαι φανατικός των Smiths θα ήθελα να συνεισφέρω my little penny στο May Club με το κορυφαίο κατά την ταπεινή μου γνώμη τραγούδι τους: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqnFUVCoIL0
Sure! for the record 😅 δικό μου αγαπημένο είναι το ‘Reel Around The Fountain’ – το πρώτο που μου έρχεται στο μυαλό με το που τίθεται το (φανταστικό) ερώτημα.
WOW. He does a fantastic job with “Good Times.”
Yes! something like the epitome of bittersweet. What a great guy.
Love the podcast.
Honestly, I’ve always adored listening to Eric sing. With the animals, I love all the hits.
When I watch the performances & listen to the music he made with “War”, I fall in love again.
Now I’ve seen him old, sitting in a chair singing, and he is better than ever, in a soulful honest way.
Thank you for this!
He’s “simply” the best!
Yes!!!!
