Κυκλοφορημένο αρχικά μόνο στην αμερικάνικη έκδοση του Armed Forces (1979) το τραγούδι έχει γραφτεί από τον παραγωγό του άλμπουμ του Elvis, Nick Lowe. Είχε πρωτοκυκλοφορήσει, χωρίς επιτυχία, από το pub rock συγκρότημα των Brinsley Schwarz στο άλμπουμ τους The New Favorities Of… (1974) του οποίου παραγωγός ήταν επίσης ο Lowe.
Το ακούμε και στις δυο βερσιόν, ξεκινώντας με την original.
Originally released only in the American version of Armed Forces (1979) the song is written by the producer of Elvis’ album, Nick Lowe. It was first released, without success, by the British pub rock band Brinsley Schwarz on their album The New Favourites Of... (1974), also produced by Lowe.
We hear it in both versions, starting with the original.

As I walk through
This wicked world
Searchin’ for light in the darkness of insanity
I ask myself
Is all hope lost?
Is there only pain and hatred and misery?
And each time I feel like this inside
There’s one thing I wanna know
What’s so funny ’bout peace, love and understanding? Ohhhh
What’s so funny ’bout peace, love and understanding?
And as I walked on
Through troubled times
My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes
So where are the strong
And who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?
Sweet harmony
‘Cause each time I feel it slippin’ away, just makes me wanna cry
What’s so funny ’bout peace, love and understanding? Ohhhh
What’s so funny ’bout peace, love and understanding?
So where are the strong?
And who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?
Sweet harmony
‘Cause each time I feel it slippin’ away, just makes me wanna cry
What’s so funny ’bout peace, love and understanding? Ohhhh
What’s so funny ’bout peace, love and understanding? Ohhhh
What’s so funny ’bout peace, love and understanding?
