📀 📀 His last masterpiece album was the one with which he welcomed the new millennium. I remember one of the songs of ‘Hours’, 10 years (…and two days) after David Bowie’s devastatingly unexpected death.

All of my life I’ve tried so hard
Doing my best with what I had
Nothing much happened all the same
Something about me stood apart
A whisper of hope that seemed to fail
Maybe I’m born right out of my time
Breaking my life in two
Now that I’ve really got a chance
(Throw me tomorrow, oh, oh-oh)
Everything’s falling into place
(Throw me tomorrow, oh, oh-oh)
Seeing my past to let it go
(Throw me tomorrow, oh, oh-oh)
Only for you I don’t regret
That I was Thursday’s child
(Oh, woah)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday born I was (aah, aah)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday born I was
Sometimes I cried my heart to sleep
Shuffling days and lonesome nights
Sometimes my courage fell to my feet
Lucky old sun is in my sky
Nothing prepared me for your smile
Lighting the darkness of my soul
Innocence in your arms
(Oh-neh don’ go, ah-ah, yeah)
Now that I’ve really got a chance
(Throw me tomorrow, oh-oh)
Everything’s falling into place
(Throw me tomorrow, oh, oh-oh)
Seeing my past to let it go
(Yeah, throw me tomorrow, oh, oh-oh)
Only for you I don’t regret
That I was Thursday’s child
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday born I was Thursday’s Child (aah, aah)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday born I was Thursday’s Child (aah, aah)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday born I was (aah, aah)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday born I (aah, aah)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday born I was (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday born I was (ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

I think David Bowie was born out of his TIME…. He was an exceptional artist and musician, and he held deep wisdom, which came through in many of his lyrics ..
Of course. A lot of this wisdom had to do with his delving in ancient Egypt studies. The guy had an obsession with Horus (his destroyed eye played perhaps an “initiative” role in that).
There’s plenty of stuff in his lyrics that most people wouldn’t imagine. Even this album’s title is an anagram of Horus, the cover itself is a reference to the cycle of “life-death-rebirth”.
