BRAND X : NUCLEAR BURN (1976)

📀 📀 The ambition behind
Phil Collins’s fusion side-project was that of becoming the English equivalent to Weather Report. This would remain unfulfilled, due to the increasing success of his main band (Genesis) which there was no way he could leave… ‘Nuclear Burn’ from Unorthodox Behaviour, Brand X’s first album, is a joy to hear, stimulating and relaxing at the same time. Abundance of ideas, stratospheric virtuosity and musicality from Robin Lumley – keyboards, John Goodsall – guitar, Percy Jones – bass.
And one more proof that Phil Collins, apart from anything else, is the greatest drummer to have passed from the British rock scene.

I had no idea of this side of Collin’s work. I agree with you about him being an excellent drummer. Superlative work.

      I’m glad you agree!
I must be the greatest P. Collins fan …among those who despise his singer – songwriter side.
Here’s another even more obscure part of his career, although you might know this one : PHIL COLLIN’S BIG BAND!
