For the record, some members of Nucleus (the drummer John Marshall, the keyboardist and composer Karl Jenkins, the bassist Roy Babbington…) crossed over to Soft Machine along the way. Under The Sun (1974) comes from Nucleus‘ golden period – we pick from it the Ian Carr composition Theme 1 : Sarsaparilla, featuring excellent solos from himself, the saxophonist Bob Bertles and the guest keyboardist Gordon Beck.
