NIRVANA : YOU CAN TRY IT (1968)

Επρόκειτο για το ντεμπούτο τους στη δισκογραφία The Story Of Simon Simopath – 1967. Το τραγούδι που ακούμε, χαρακτηριστικό του ευφορικού, “μπαρόκ” ήχου τους βρίσκεται στο δεύτερο άλμπουμ τους, All Of Us (1968) 🟡 🟡 The exciting new proposal from stcigar comes from the ’60s. The British Nirvana are responsible for the first concept album in rock history (a title that, from a certain point onward… would cease to be considered particularly honorable). It was their debut record, The Story Of Simon Simopath – 1967. The British psychedelic outfit, with Patrick Campbell-Lyons and Alex Spyropoulos as its creative core, recorded a series of albums until the early ’70s before disbanding… and then reuniting in the mid-’80s. A few years later, their lawsuit against the… American Nirvana for name appropriation would lead to an out-of-court settlement. The song we’re listening to, characteristic of their euphoric, “baroque” sound, appears on their second album, All Of Us (1968).

Do you remember the day of your birthday
It’s all right, it’s all right
Touch with your fingers the things that you like
Don’t be shy, you can try
Ooh, aah, why don’t you try it?
Ooh, aah, why don’t you feel it?
Aah, aah, aah
Tell me your story, before you were born
In the lie, out of sight
Live in my place, as long as you want
Day and night, as you like
Ooh, aah, why don’t you try it? (Why don’t you try it?)
Ooh, aah, why don’t you feel it?
Aah, aah, aah
Touch with your fingers the things that you like
Don’t be shy, you can try
Did you believe in the things that they say?
About me and some friends of mine
Ooh, aah, why don’t you try it? (Why don’t you try?)
Ooh, aah, why don’t you feel it?
Aah, aah, aah
Aah, aah, aah
Aah, aah
