BLODWYN PIG + JETHRO TULL (MICK ABRAHAMS R.I.P.)

Abrahams για τους JT, και δυο από το πρώτο άλμπουμ των Blodwyn Pig, Ahead Rings Out. 🔥 🔥 🔥 Two days ago, Mick Abrahams, founding member and original lead guitarist of Jethro Tull, left this vain world behind, aged 82. His songwriting and vocal contribution to their debut album, This Was, is limited to one track: the prophetically titled ‘Move On Alone’. It’s the song that secured Abrahams a place in rock history, along with the two albums he released with his band Blodwyn Pig in 1969 and 1970, right after his departure. The reason for that was his differing musical vision—a steadfast orientation toward the blues—contrasting with the open-horizon approach of Ian Anderson, a guy not exactly tolerant of disagreements.
Let’s listen to
Abrahams’ song for Jethro Tull, and two tracks from Blodwyn Pig’s debut album, Ahead Rings Out.

00:00 Move On Alone 01:56 The Change Song 05:11 Dear Jill

MOVE ON ALONE
I feel so sad now that she’s gone,
I’ve been loving that woman too long.
There is no place to go because my friends have all moved,
Got nothing but sit in the sun.
Got tired of crying, guess I’ll move on alone.
My bed is so empty and my heart is grown cold,
Guess I’ll just die before I grow old.
The place is untidy, that’s ’cause I ain’t done my dirt,
I just grown tired of thinking.
Got tired of crying, guess I’ll move on alone.

THE CHANGE SONG
Time has come a-when a man will change
Take the road that clears a troubled mind
I got no room for fool’s gold and riches, babe
I can’t move no fool man’s gold
Lord, help me stand up as I walk on
I won’t lose my, won’t lose my driving wheel
I won’t lose my driving wheel
Like the sea, the tide keeps turning when my mind is thinkin’ on
Got to retain my satisfaction, let the talk of men go by
Some things around me just don’t need moving
Some things around gotta stay the same
Until I lay down at my judgement
I won’t lose that, won’t lose my driving wheel
I won’t lose my driving wheel
I won’t lose my driving wheel
I won’t lose my driving wheel

DEAR JILL
Sorry babe, but I won’t be home,
Won’t be home tomorrow.
Sorry darlin’ but I got to let you
Gotta let you down
Your wasten’ my time
Got no love
Love left to give you anymore.
I gotta look for, I gotta find me a brand new
Find me a brand new woman
You know I gotta find, the one that won’t
The one that won’t run around
You took everything I had, but I got no love,
Love left to give you anymore.
