Συναντήσαμε τον συνθέτη & παραγωγό Simon Emmerson ως μέλος των Weekend στα early – mid ‘80s. Μια δεκαετία αργότερα, ιδρύει το “πολυπολιτισμικό” σχήμα των Afro Celt Sound System – ενδιαφέρουσα διασταύρωση κέλτικων και αφρικάνικων παραδοσιακών στοιχείων σε ηλεκτρονικό φόντο. Οι ACCS ηχογραφούν τα πρώτα άλμπουμ υπό την αιγίδα της Real World του Peter Gabriel, όσο για μας, ακούμε το ‘Big Cat’ από το δεύτερο τους, Volume 2 : Release (1999) 📀 📀 We first met composer & producer Simon Emmerson as a member of Weekend in the early-to-mid ’80s. A decade later, he founded the “multicultural” project Afro Celt Sound System – a fascinating fusion of Celtic and African traditional elements over an electronic backdrop. ACSS recorded their early albums under Peter Gabriel’s Real World label, and as for us, we’re listening to ‘Big Cat’ from their second album, Volume 2 : Release (1999).
