Ένα από τα λίγα σχετικά τραγούδια από τη σόλο καριέρα του Phil Collins που μου αρέσουν ιδιαίτερα. Η οποία καριέρα, παρεμπιπτόντως, έχει λοιδορηθεί πολύ περισσότερο απ ‘όσο της άξιζε. Και από διάφορους που, σε ένα κόσμο διαφορετικό απ’ αυτόν που άρχισε να σχηματίζεται την ίδια στιγμή μ’ εκείνην (early ‘80s) δε θα είχαν πρόσβαση στο δημόσιο διάλογο. 📀 📀 One of the few songs from Phil Collins’ solo career that I particularly like. A career, by the way, that has been criticized far more than it deserved. And by various people who, in a world different from the one that began to take shape at the same time as that career (early ’80s), would not have access to public discourse.

Little by little I’m becoming more appreciative of Phil’s solo career (I didn’t care for him back in the day, for been a “traitor” of the progressive spirit. 🙂 Which he apparently was, though not before he ‘d served it better than anyone else!)

I quite like his solo career. I don’t always like solo career music, after I’ve been the fan of a band, but often I do.
Call me cray, but I love John Lennon’s music more than The Beatles, and I love The Beatles music.
Just 1 example.
One doesn’t have to be crazy to believe such a thing. Lennon’s solo career was brilliant, the only Beatle whose music outside the band lived up to their legacy! But, imho, The Beatles were the best thing that happened in rock music …along with Genesis 1970 – 1980 era.
