🔴 🔴 🔴 The album is 4 Generations of Miles, a live tribute to Miles Davis recorded in May 2002 at the Makor club in New York and released in September of the same year. The musicians who make up the band represent four different generations of legendary collaborators of his : tenor saxophonist George Coleman (1963–64, photo), bassist Ron Carter (Second Great Quintet), drummer Jimmy Cobb (late 1950s—the only participant in the original recording), and guitarist Mike Stern (great ‘80s comeback). The concept itself is inherently intriguing—and, as we can hear, it is realized in the best possible way.
