Ακούμε δυο αποσπάσματα του έργου του Arturo : Adagio (00:00), What Now (03:07). Kαι, σε ξεχωριστό track, την original Afro-Cuban Jazz Suite του πατέρα του.

In 1950 the trumpeter, composer and bandleader Chico O ‘Farrill, one of the pioneers of Afro-Cuban jazz, presented his imposing 17-minute suite under that very title. In the soloist’s chair, in dialogue with the band, stood Charlie Parker, lending the recording an added historical weight. Sixty years later, the pianist, composer and bandleader Arturo O’Farrill, Chico’s son and worthy heir, composed a work in tribute to his father’s : Cuba: The Conversation Continues. The soloist here is the Indian-American star alto saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa, one of the most interesting figures in jazz today (alongside his compatriot and collaborator, the pianist-composer Vijay Iyer). We hear two excerpts from Arturo‘s work: Adagio (00:00), What Now (3:07). And, on a separate track, his father’s original Afro-Cuban Jazz Suite.
