Δεδομένης της σχέσης της ακολουθίας Fibonacci (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89…) με τη μουσική σύνθεση – διάφοροι δημιουργοί την έχουν κατά καιρούς χρησιμοποιήσει, από τον Ντεμπισί και τον Μπάρτοκ μέχρι τον Στοκχάουζεν και τον Ξενάκη – δε νομίζω ότι ένα σύνολο σαν τους art-punk καταστροφείς από το LA μπορούσε να βρει “ταιριαστότερο” όνομα. Κατά τ’ άλλα, η νέα οπτικοακουστκή πρόταση τoυ stcigar μπορεί να χρησιμεύσει σαν ακριβής παράσταση των ημερών μας, κι ας έρχεται από το μακρινό 1984. Πρόκειται για τη διασκευή (όταν λέμε διασκευή το εννούμε) από τους Fibonaccis του τραγουδιού του Hendrix. 🟡 🟡 Given the Fibonacci sequence’s (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89…) connection to musical composition — various creators have drawn on it over the years, from Debussy and Bartók to Stockhausen and Xenakis — I don’t think an outfit of art-punk wreckers from L.A. could have found a more “fitting” name. That aside, stcigar’s latest audio-visual prposal can stand as an exact representation of our days, even if it dates all the way back to 1984. It’s The Fibonaccis’ cover of the Hendrix song — and when we say cover, we mean it.
