His career began in the 1960s, and he has released a large number of albums as a leader, along with some impressive collaborations – Chet Baker, Stéphane Grappelli, Charles Mingus, Dexter Gordon, Larry Coryell… He also served as a temporary replacement for Jan Akkerman in (my beloved) Dutch band Focus during the mid-to-late 1970s.
