EDDIE JOBSON : THE GREEN ALBUM (1983)

🔴 🔴 With a slightly dizzying résumé already in his luggage (Curved Air, Roxy Music – here– Frank Zappa, UK, Jethro Tull), the keyboardist and violinist Eddie Jobson released his first solo album in 1983 — a kind of hybrid “electronic progressive” record oriented toward the sonic sources of the era (as refined as possible). We pick three tracks from it. The name Zinc on the cover refers to the shadowy band that accompanied him on only a few tracks of The Green Album— among others, on the third of the ones we hear.

00:00 Nostalgia 02:32 Walking From Pastel 04:33 Who My Friends

Here we are, walking down the dusty road
Skies are red, as we glance back at the dawn
To see who’my friends will follow me
Shadows die, fading hope of friendship too
Can’t rely on what new friends might do
Where are you? Who’my friends will run from view
Ambition burning
Cannot drown out the fire
I am learning
Who my friends really are
Autumn leaves, winter winds abound
Flames are gone, leaving cinders on the ground
Where now there are charcoal memories
Now I know who my friends turned out to be
Ambition burning
Cannot drown out the fire
I am learning
Who my friends really are
