Και, δεν μπορώ να φανταστώ μουσική πιο ταιριαστή απ’ το soundtrack των Popol Vuh. 🟡 🟡 It’s not just a random influence that FF Coppola, director of Apocalypse Now has spoken about regarding this masterpiece by Werner Herzog. ‘Aguirre’ depicts the surreal ordeals (from attacking natives, diseases, to the forces of nature) that a group of Spanish conquistadors face in the Amazon jungle while searching for the gold of El Dorado. Klaus Kinski delivers the performance of his career in the lead role. And I can’t imagine a more fitting soundtrack than that of Popol Vuh.
