Από τα άγνωστα διαμάντια του. Άλμπουμ προέλευσης το επίσης υποτιμημένο soundtrack που ο, νιόπαντρος τότε, DB έγραψε για το τηλεοπτικό “The Buddha Of Suburbia” [1993]

This is what I would call a sleeper album. And I mean that as a compliment to “the minstrel” as i used to call him at his website, before he got rippy and began to charge for membership and forum rights, etc. When that site had free “discourse” I had several handles… Which he to his credit encouraged! But towards the end something happened and he began to charge. That’s when I said goodbye. I felt he was losing it in some way. As if he really needed more money??? But as I said elsewhere to your wife, I still love the guy. His work still speaks to me. On this lp I particularly enjoyed the title track. ?

Well, you know how it goes. It’s not the poor people that need more money. It’s the rich people that usually do. Anyway, all is forgiven when it comes to a guy like DB. Thanks a lot!

Have to correct myself once again, and just to complete the story that my personal RAM wouldn’t allow me to remember at last posting… :-/

One day i felt compelled to listen to Space Oddity on vinyl. It really spoke to me so I thought i’d check out the db.com site. By that time membership was free again. I don’t know why—warmheartedness or cold economics, I’m not sure! 😉 I signed up and participated once again until his sad and untimely demise. I can’t go there any longer. Not even if his fans are still posting. Let bygones be bygones. We have a wonderful body of work from that guy… who happened to be a genius. 🙂
