I heard about Chick’s passing on Marina’s reblog, which led to here.
I thought, “he was one of the best in his genre, if not the best”. Then I thought. … “HE IS one of the best in his genre, if not the best”. Somehow I think and feel that even though someone has passed, their work has not. Therefore it is still in the present tense.
