I had my share of concerts myself, unwillingly or not. But I also prefer small scale events.
First club I used to hangout in was the local jazz club [from 1979 on]. I remember, as a teen, being the youngest person there, and as this wasn’t enough, I was surrounded by long haired + bearded freaks, me being dressed as a …punk. 😎👊🙏

It’s funny because I’ve gone to many, MANY concerts. Way back in the early 80’s, the tickets were under $10! Now? No way I will fork out $200+ for one ticket.
Live is fun in a smaller venue. We have a few of those and I always choose them (a heck of a lot cheaper, too)

To tell the truth, being a boy and a teenager back then, living on music, I was so happy with my records that I didn’t miss the live experience – I didn’t even know what it was. Maybe that’s the reason I never became a great concert goer, even when live events began on a regular base from the ’80s on. Nor do I particularly enjoy playing live myself!

Corea was one of my pianistic idols. Never had the chance to hear RTF live of course – same goes with all the bands I loved from the ’70s : we couldn’t even imagine watching guys like them or …Genesis live here. Lucky you!

Me too! Bands like this […and Weather Report, Jarret’s European Quartet, guys like Ralph Towner or Eberhard Weber] got together very well with progrock which was my favorite at the time.
