BOB DYLAN B-DAY, PODCAST : TOMBSTONE BLUES / IF YOU SEE HER, SAY HALO / TANGLED UP IN BLUE / ABSOLUTELY SWEET MARIE etc.

[1965], BLOOD ON THE TRACKS [1975], SAVED [1981], STREET LEGAL [1978], BLOOD ON THE TRACKS [ξανά], TIME OUT OF MIND [1997], BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME [1965], BLONDE ON BLONDE [1966], THE BASEMENT TAPES [1975], LOVE & THEFT [2003]

On this date, May 24, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota, Robert Allen Zimmerman, better known as Bob Dylan, was born. The podcast, a minimum tribute to him, could not be “representative” of a 60-year career – not in the 45 minutes of time allowed. It’s just representative of my own mood, reflected in some songs, not “greatest hits” or “best,” of a man we all owe. No matter how well this is perceived by each one of us.
So, there are 10 songs from 9 albums: HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED [1965], BLOOD ON THE TRACKS [1975], SAVED [1981], STREET LEGAL [1978], BLOOD ON THE TRACKS [again], TIME OUT OF MIND [1997], BRINGING IT ALL BACK HOME [1965], BLONDE ON BLONDE [1966], THE BASEMENT TAPES [1975], LOVE & THEFT [2003]

    OMG!
This is the best podcast! LOVE Dylan. I know all of his work…read his autobiography, and I know that you know Jimi Hendrix covered a lot of Dylan’s work.
I adore that you did not pick the obvious songs. Subterranean Homesick Blues & Sweet Marie are my faves here.
Well done!!!!!!! Love this podcast! Tweeting it!

Thank you so much. I always pick the songs I love or at least the ones I’ d like to hear, regardless of their “status”. From this podcast my favorites are the two from Blood On the Tracks. Especially “If You See Her, Say Halo” is one of the most devastatingly moving song I’ve ever heard.
