It’s sad when memories are overrun, and trampled by the unappreciative hordes. Especially, when it’s a place you hold very dear. The loss of one’s mother is most unbearable. To vitiate her birthplace insults the core of one’s humanity.

I chose this photo because it’s taken from the island of Chios, my late mother’s birthplace, the place of my summer holidays since childhood, and the one I love the most.
If I was there at the moment, I don’t know how I could hold back.
